Dolby x Bafta Ad
Project Type
Editorial Design
For the prestigious BAFTA event, I had the opportunity to design Dolby's advert featured in the official brochure, a key touchpoint for industry professionals and attendees. The goal was to promote Dolby’s technology and remind this influential audience of Dolby’s long-standing presence and leadership within the entertainment world.
While the brief required the inclusion of Dolby’s logo and a message, I was given creative freedom for the rest. My aim was to craft a visually striking advert that would catch attention in a subtle yet impactful way, reinforcing Dolby’s connection to film, television, and gaming without overtly showcasing specific products or services. The challenge was to create brand recognition that resonated with an audience already familiar with Dolby, without feeling intrusive.
To achieve this, I used vibrant imagery with a clear focal point that made the page stand out, ensuring the ad would catch the eye of readers even as they quickly flicked through the brochure. The design was deliberately minimal in messaging, allowing the imagery and layout to subliminally remind viewers of Dolby’s pioneering role in enhancing cinematic experiences.
What I’m most proud of is the balance I struck between creativity and subtlety. The final result was an ad that not only aligned with Dolby’s innovative and high-quality image but also left a lasting impression on an audience of industry leaders and creatives. Leading the creative direction for this project was a rewarding experience, knowing that it was seen and consumed by some of the most influential professionals in entertainment.
